Wednesday Challenge Form has been filled in completely for the spaghetti bridge.
The second Wednesday challenge was given to us which us thinking of a machine that will identify the difference between a cat and a dog without harming the animal. Our group had a machine that would scan the animal's print and would check the accuracy based on the data that has been inputed to the machine. We used the google form to submit the idaea.
Mr. Miller had told us how the bridges will be graded. We need to have a well written content and some color to it instead of being black and white. However, the FileZila crashed during the class again.
The veterans showed their progress on the JPL challenge. They had nominated several ideas and described how the other designs would be like. Also, Mr. Wilton visted us again and shared the ideas.
We used sketch up program to learn the basic skills such as making an accurate length of rectangle and rectangular prism. After learning some basic skills, each person had designed our own city.
Mr. Miller had gotten our email for the safety couse. Then, we had to measure jenga blocks using ruler, and create it on sketch up.

Wednesday challenge was give to the class. We had to cut out a block into 2inches, using a ruler, sandpaper, and a saw. Our team had first measured and marked the inches on the wood block and rougly sawed it by 1/16 inch off so we could use the sandpaper to smooth out the block and make it more accurate. However, the problem of this challenge is that it is hard to keep all the corners equal and accurate.
The class continued working on our second block for the Wednesday Challenge. Our team went through the same steps that was done for the first block.
JPl invention challenge machines were presented and tested with real water outside the class. Based on everyone's opinion, the vacum idea
was the most popular one.
Using the sketch up, the class worked measuring the jenga blocks and modeling it on the sketch up. First, we use the rectangle tool to get the base of the block, we input the measure of the block so it is easier than just assuming. Second, we set the height of the block and now it will have the right dimensions of the jenga block.
Meghan Musser visited the class to explain about finding the future career with Skillfy by filling in the application. She introduced herself and shared ideas of being successful to the class.
Wednesday Challenge was about moving a marble as a team, using a curved stick that is about a feet and longer The class was divided into two teams to do this challenge. Every person must the the stick while transfering the marble and the sticks may not overlap or tilted backwards. Our team, which was Jaden's team won the challenge by delivering the marble faster into the bag with everyone touching the stick.
The class worked on the websites to get the requirements on their website. Alex presented his website and instructed on how to put a youtube video on the website.
Dr. Neat went over our grades in classes that was graded on how we did on our website. He also showed some examples of well designed websites that included the requirements needed. We learned how he grades our website and which grade goes into the grade book. If the student gets better grade on their 2nd semester than 1st, Dr. Neat would put the 2nd semester grade, without including the 1st.
We watched a video of a rocket explosion while launching and how the fuel exploded. The event we saw in the video happened recently about few month ago.
The class started a new Wednesday Challenge which will be our semester final. It will hugely impact the grade if the group wins the challenge, will bring it up to an A. Each team has to design an arch bridge with a keystone, not allowed to use any materials that is cliped or that holds pieces together. Glue and tape are not allowed in this challenge. At least a week will be given to complete this challenge since we actually have to build the bridge. In order to win, the bridge needs to have the longest span.
Everyone gathered into their Wednesday Challenge team to work on the bridge designing and gathering ideas.
Mr. Wilton came to the class and reviewed the progress of the JPL challenge. Most groups have the funnel as part of their machine to get the water into the cup with the goldfish. They had their design on the google sketch up.
